The GST are delighted to present Oliver! - the much-loved musical based on Dickens's Oliver Twist

The show will be as much fun to be in as to watch, with loads of parts for children and adults, singing and non-singing. Dickens was a Londoner, and spent some time living in North Finchley at Fallow Farm (now the Finchley Memorial Hospital) and as this year marks his 200th birthday what better way to celebrate than a community-based production of the show by your local theatre company!

These are open auditions. Please read the auditions page if you have never auditioned with the GST before.

Audition Pieces:

Everyone will need to learn a simple dance, and sing. Please sing one of these three pieces below, or contact the Musical Director (Jon Musker) in advance if you want to do a different piece.

Principals will also need to read some pieces from the scripts - contact Diana Bromley for advanced copies.

We rehearse three times a week, on Sunday afternoons from 3.00 to 6.00pm and two week day evenings, which will be chosen after the audition when we know everyone's availability. Sunday rehearsals will begin on 20th November. Chorus members, both children and adults, are expected to attend every Sunday rehearsal. In addition, principals attend those week day rehearsals for which they are called, from 7.30 - 9.15pm for child principals and 8.00 to 10.30pm for adults.

During rehearsals and performances, parents are expected to help back stage on a rota basis with costume changes, make up and general chaperoning.

Copies of script and music will be available after the pre-audition workshop
