Sunday 23rd March 2014, 7:30pm

Director: Colin Gregory

When King Leontes becomes wracked with jealousy and accuses his wife of having an affair with his best friend, a series of terrible events is set in motion. It needs some of Shakespeare’s most magical touches, including a lost princess raised by a shepherd and the famous "exit pursued by a bear" before a scattered family can be reunited in a miraculous affirmation of the redemptive power of love.

There is plenty of scope for characterisation in both the large and small parts, which include some of the most rewarding in Shakespeare. All the cast will have plenty to do in this play, doubling parts where possible to create a tight ensemble. We will need a chorus of all ages to play lords and ladies, shepherds and shepherdesses and other characters, including up to eight parts for children aged 8+.

These are open auditions. Please read the auditions page if you have never auditioned with the GST before.

NB - Age: The age shown against certain characters is the age of that character and not the age you have to be to play the part. If you think you can play that age - have a go!
