The Vackees is a musical for the whole family set just before the outbreak of World War II. It is a touching story of Kip, an East End boy, who is evacuated to a small village in Somerset with some of his friends. The villagers resent being "invaded" and tension builds as the townies try to adapt to country life. But the intervention of an enemy pilot changes everything ...

It has a large cast of adults and children with lots of speaking parts for all ages. Apart from the many principal roles, it is the chorus that makes the show. Everyone will have a lot to do and there are big chorus numbers in each Act. A number of the cast will be expected to perform basic dance numbers.

Before the audition, please come along to the informal Workshop on October 12th (2pm - 5pm). Learn a couple of songs from the show; have fun with some simple choreography; and have the opportunity to improvise scenarios related to the evacuation of children from London in 1939 (2014 marks the 75th anniversary of the WW II evacuation programme).

These are open auditions. Please read the auditions page if you have never auditioned with the GST before.
