A modern partly-devised performance based on three original episode scripts from the BBC sitcom Blackadder 2 (the Elizabethan one). TV adaptations are always popular with audiences and the second series of Blackadder is (in our opinion) the funniest, so we expect a sell-out run at The Bull.

We are looking to cast an energetic team of actors who wish to work collaboratively to transform television scripts into an incredible theatrical experience. Rather than casting lookalikes or impersonators we are seeking versatile performers of any age who are willing to explore the characters and contribute creatively to the story.

We use drama games as our starting point and Farce as the basic form, but we anticipate the piece will also be influenced by the Theatre of the Absurd and even Pantomime.

We will individually cast the characters of Edmund, Percy, Baldrick, Queenie, Melchett and Nursie. In addition we need a supporting cast of 6 or more actors to play ALL the other characters, some of whom will feature more heavily than in the original. There is HUGE scope for fun and experimentation with this production.

Auditions take place in small groups where you'll be invited to work together to develop a scene for presentation. The main audition takes place at 7:30pm on Sunday 28th February at St Margaret's Church Hall, or join us for an informal evening of script readings (and wine) on Thursday 11th February at 8pm (venue TBC email to register your interest in attending). Please ensure you are familiar with the characters before the audition by ensuring you have watched at least one episode of series 2 of Blackadder

These are open auditions. Please read the auditions page if you have never auditioned with the GST before.
